Friendships can be a really important part of teenage life, but they can also bring pressure, comparison, difficult choices and worries about fitting in.
The Teen Friendships & Social Pressure resource is designed to help young people think about what healthy friendships look like, recognise when something doesn't feel right and feel more confident making choices that are right for them.
Suitable for KS3 & KS4 students, approximately ages 11–16.
The resource helps young people to:
💗 Recognise the signs of healthy, supportive friendships 💗 Identify friendship red flags and unhealthy behaviours 💗 Develop confidence when dealing with peer pressure 💗 Pause and think before following the crowd 💗 Understand how social media can affect comparison and self-esteem 💗 Think about their own values, boundaries and choices 💗 Remember that fitting in isn't the same as belonging
It also provides simple phrases young people can use when they feel pressured, helping them practise saying “no” without feeling they need to explain themselves.
